On Aug. 7, 2026, the Board of San Luis Rey Municipal Water District (“District”) adopted Ordinance 2026-1 imposing a Water Availability Charge under Water Code secs. 71630, et seq., 71631.7 for fiscal year 2026-2027, to be levied upon lands within the District on parcels larger than one (1) acre at the rate of $20 per acre or portion of an acre; and for parcels of one (1) acre or less at the rate of $20. The affected parcel owners were mailed ballots and notices 45 days prior to the Aug. 7, 2026 hearing. The charge may be either paid at the time of assessment or collected on the tax rolls. The roll call vote was 3 in favor (Directors Victor and William Pankey, and Director Veysey); 0 opposed. Director Zaleschuk was absent. A copy is available through the District.
